With Christmas nearly upon us, the season of festive entertaining has well and truly begun!
Have you been given the task of preparing dessert for your Christmas catch-up? LiveLighter have you covered with some healthy and delicious festive recipe ideas.
Choc-berry and coco-mango chia puddings
What would Christmas be without pudding!? Our choc-chia puddings topped with fruit are perfect for a sweltering Aussie Christmas. These are a great dessert to prepare ahead of time so you can spend your Christmas day relaxing with family and friends rather than stuck in the kitchen!
Choose from either the choc-berry or coco-mango variations (or make some of both!!)
Honey panna cotta with tropical fruit salsa
Make the most of the gorgeous array of fabulous summer fruit available at Christmas with this light and refreshing panna cotta. Dessert can often be the thing that pushes us over the edge into food coma territory; try featuring fruit in your desserts to help take the sting out of sweets.
Apple and peach pie
We love the scrunchy filo topping on this simple and satisfying pie. This is a great one to get the kids involved in making - whether it's chopping apples and pouring peaches into the baking dish for the older ones or scrunching up filo for the younger ones.
Berry rhubarb meringue pots
Our berry rhubarb meringue pots look fancy but are actually easy to make. The sweetness of the apples and meringue combined with the tartness of the rhubarb produce a flavor explosion that will wow your Christmas guests.
Fruits of the forest yoghurt compote
Fruity yoghurt cups made with flaked almonds, yoghurt and fruit are a simple but effective dessert – and they taste great too! To add a Christmas twist top with seasonal fruit like cherries, strawberries, mango or passionfruit.
Watermelon Christmas trees
Nothing beats the summer heat like a slice of refreshing watermelon. Cut watermelon into Christmas trees shapes or use a cookie cutter to make stars. These are fantastic for a Christmas picnic in the park on a hot day.
Apple pudding with cinnamon custard
For a fun spin on the regular ol' Christmas pudding, give these warm and spicy fruit buns a go. Topped with cinnamon custard and with a surprise fruity centre, this dessert stands proud amongst the more traditional favourites. Be prepared to have your guests ask for the recipe!
Apple crumble
Everyone loves warm apple crumble, so why not offer it on Christmas day? The secret is to use tasty and crisp apples and add a touch of Christmas spice. The beautiful aroma of cinnamon makes this dessert hard to resist. Enjoy!
