Healthy Pizza Base Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup self-raising flour
- 1 cup Greek or natural yoghurt
- olive or canola oil spray
Method
- Preheat oven to 200°C (180°C fan forced).
- In a bowl, combine the flour and half the yoghurt. Mix together, adding a little more yoghurt at a time until you get a soft dough. If it gets too sticky, add more flour.
- Turn out onto a floured board. Knead for 5-8 minutes.
- Roll into a pizza shape and place on a lightly oiled oven tray.
- Prick the dough all over with a fork.
- Cook pizza dough in oven for 8-10 minutes.
- Remove cooked dough from oven and add your selection of toppings.
- Return pizza to oven and cook for an additional 10 minutes or until toppings are cooked through.

Choose plain water or soda water in place of a sugary drink.

do you have a recipe for a grain free pizza base as we do not eat wheat of any kind if we can help it. would it work with almond flour?

Hi Carly. We've had mixed results here at the office, depending on what brand of yoghurt we use. Sometimes I've needed to add more flour to get the dough right. I've edited the recipe so there's a note about this now. I hope your dinner turned out OK!

Hi, has any one tried this? I tried it last night and what I came up with was far from Pizza Dough! Are the proportions correct?

Hi Ren, you could use any plain yoghurt you like. The nutrition information panel is based on plain, full-fat yoghurt which is about 4% fat. If you like Greek-style yoghurt I would go with a reduced-fat version, as this style tends to be higher fat. I hope that helps, and happy cooking! -AF
