The third wave of LiveLighter's campaign Move More launches in Western Australia on Monday 13th January and will run until Saturday 8th March 2024.

About Move More

Move More aims to encourage WA adults to be more active by discovering what motivates them to move. The campaign highlights the positive and immediate benefits of physical activity such as improving mental health, having more energy and connecting with others. The campaign features everyday West Aussies talking about the benefits they receive from being physically active.

The third wave of Move More introduces a new set of video assets featuring four new Move More champions talking about the movement they like to do and why they love doing it.

This wave will run on catch-up TV, YouTube, digital audio, online and social media, including Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.

LiveLighter is funded by the WA Department of Health and run by Cancer Council WA.

Campaign aims

  • Encourage adults to be more physically active.
  • Inform WA adults of the benefits of being physically active.

Target audience

The primary audience for the Move More campaign is West Australian adults aged 25-64 who currently do small to moderate amounts of physical activity. Secondary audiences will include parents, and people living in regional/remote areas and disadvantaged or low socioeconomic status areas of WA.

Key messages

  • Moving our bodies every day has many benefits for our physical and mental health.
  • Motivating ourselves to be physically active is easier when we think of the intrinsic and immediate benefits of being active. For example, it can give us the chance to; connect with friends, improve our mental health, feel stronger, sleep better, feel energised, and find everyday tasks (like playing with the kids or carrying the shopping in) easier.
  • There are so many different ways that we can move our bodies. The key is finding something that we enjoy doing and that fits in with our schedule.

Share the campaign on socials

We are encouraging all stakeholders to support the launch of Move More by sharing our content on their channels. We have static and video assets from the campaign available for use by stakeholders.

When sharing campaign content, please tag LiveLighter using our handles.

Alternatively, you can share any of our posts from the LiveLighter Facebook or Instagram accounts. To repost original content via Instagram, you can download an app called Repost.

When sharing videos without inbuilt captions, please consider turning on automatic captioning to increase the accessibility of content.

Here are some other examples of how you can extend the reach of the campaign in your community or workplace.

In your community

  • Place nudge posters encouraging more movement at community centres, libraries and shopping centres.
  • Have LiveLighter workout resources available at council offices, recreation and leisure centres, libraries and other community places.
  • Circulate newsletter inserts and social media tiles to the local Marketing and Communications team to add into e-newsletters or on social media pages.
  • Add digital campaign materials into the rotation on digital TV screens.
  • Conduct exercise sessions using the LiveLighter workout resources.
  • Run competitions on social media using LiveLighter merchandise as prizes.
  • Bring campaign resources as handouts at your community presentations.
  • If you have access to a bike blender, try featuring the LiveLighter drink recipes - download our A4 recipe cards or A3 recipe poster developed specifically for blender bikes!

In your workplace

  • Have hard copy campaign resources available in the lunchroom.
  • Place posters around the workplace.
  • Add featured workout resources to your workplace e-newsletter or intranet.
  • When catering for events, use LiveLighter recipes when planning your menu.
  • Send the toolkit link to your workplace health representative and ask if they can organise a lunchtime presentation.

Partner with Healthway

Healthway plays a key role in extending the LiveLighter campaign by working with local sport, arts and community organisations throughout Western Australia to create programs and activities that encourage healthy lifestyles. Organisations assigned the LiveLighter health message promote access to healthy food and drinks, encourage healthy eating and motivate people to be active.

Do you have a project in mind? Healthway’s Healthy Partnership Program provides funding for sports, arts, racing and community groups to create programs and activities that support good health now and into the future.
